Finding Inspiration

I saw this on the news a few nights ago and knew that I wanted to include this story with this week's post.  It proves once again that we can accomplish anything once we are determined to do something.  Hopefully, you will find as much inspiration from this story as much as I did!

Have a good weekend, everyone!

An Inspiring Tale

Here’s an inspiring story about a father-son team who are amazing.  I especially like the line, “You have the ability to do something special and its up to you to make that become a reality," Now, that’s something to think about!

Have a good weekend, everyone.

Persistance at its Finest

Although this article is somewhat old, it demonstrates how far a person can go if he or she has the will to succeed.  We have come a long way, yes, but we still have a way to go, as this shows.

Sibling Love

I found a wonderful letter online, posted by a young woman whose older brother has Cerebral Palsy.  It shows the true depth of meaning for those who are surrounded by disability, and what profound impact it has on them.

A Reminder of Thanksgiving

I came across an article that truly shows a person can go far if they use God-given talents to the best of their abilities.  I thought that this was a fitting article in light of the Thanksgiving season.  Especially at this time of year, I often think about my abilities and gifts and am truly grateful for them.  I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and get to spend it with loved ones.

Happy Thanksgiving!

End Your Friday With Some Comic Relief

Hey All,

I hope your week was as good as mine.  Fall, my favorite season, definitely made its appearance this week, so Happy Fall.

I came upon video today that is both hilarious and thought provoking.  I think I posted one of his videos before, but Zach Anner is one of the funniest people I've seen for a long time.  So, hopefully, you'll enjoy him as much as I do.

Enjoy this beautiful weekend, all!

Abounding Inspiration

I just read an article online and thought it was so inspirational, I'd share with you.  It's proof that miracles happen everyday, but it's the acknowledgement of them that brings a smile to our lips and a song to heart.

I Will Try Again Tomorrow

“Courage doesn’t always roar.  Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”  Mary Anne Romacher

A very near and dear friend sent this quote on a card a few months ago.  As I look at it everyday, it reminds me small accomplishments lead to big ones and to take pride in the little as well as the monumental ones.  I, like many, become so engrossed in my main goal; my ultimate purpose, that I forget sometimes to step back and take a breath.  Life, I become to realize, is so short that we should have the courage to say, “tomorrow is another day-- I will try again then.”

Have a good weekend, everyone!

A Life Lived Beyond Reason

I came across this article yesterday.  It’s somewhat old, but it spoke volumes about how the mind has to go beyond reason to enjoy life’s blessings as they are bestowed on us—one of my deeply held beliefs.  I hope you read and enjoy this article as much as I did.  It’s certainly worth pondering! As always, all comments are welcome.

Everyone have a good weekend!

Reaching New Heights

Today, while perusing the Internet, I found this very inspiring news clip.  As I embark on the last week of my second internship at UCP, I’ve heard countless amazing and inspiring stories during these short months.  I feel honored to be a part of this and be able to help raise awareness in some small way during my time working for this organization!

Enjoy the video!

Fanny Crosby

This week, I learned about Fanny Crosby, a visually impaired poet and lyricist who lived in the mid-1800s.  We sing her songs at most of the Mennonite gatherings I intend.  Needless to say, my curiosity finally won over and I began researching more on her life.  To my astonishment, she wrote almost 9,000 hymns!  It amazed me to imagine a person who lived with a disability thrived in that society so long ago.  I think of it as a true testament of what a person can overcome if they truly believe!

On that note, have a great weekend everyone!
