Birthday Blessings

I wanted to thank everyone who made my day so special last weekend.  As you may not know, I spent the weekend in upstate New York to celebrate my birthday.  I not only had a special day; my whole long weekend was perfect!  In fact, I think I’m still recovering from my experience.  However, someone gave me a card with a psalm, reminding me that I’m forever protected by His everlasting love.  When life gives me trials, I always think of this and it bolsters me to face challenges with resolve, yet I have the knowledge that I rest under His wing.  That’s the best gift, I think—to remember that.

Hide me
under the shadow
of thy wings.
            Psalm 17:8

Have a good weekend, everyone!

Birthday Wishes

I would like to thank everyone for making a truly spectacular day.  Even though with a cold, I know I am blessed and loved.  I have a feeling this year is going to be the greatest ever!

Have a great weekend!

Gram

I realized today if my grandmother were still alive, she would see her ninety-first birthday this coming Monday.  This gave me cause to pause and reflect, about what she represents to me today, seven years after her death.  Through her ten year long struggle with Leukemia, she remained vital, always propelling forward, never looking back. “Tiny, but mighty,” I used to say.  She never quit, never gave up.  Today, remembering her life gives me strength on tough days and her example keeps me in good stead.  So on Monday, I’ll stop and pause to thank the woman who meant so much in life, and in death as well.  She remains a guiding beacon and always will as long as I live.

Happy Birthday, Gram!
